Activities of Late

Surrounded by students in sweatpants who are hidden behind the glare of laptops and ramparts of textbooks, National Reply Date approaches and I get a little bit more nervous with each day. Please keep a good thought and a prayer for my upcoming meetings with the financial aid counselors.

Worrying is something I do too often and regretfully so. Instead, I try to occupy my time by being productive and by going for a variety of tasks:

If I had to pick a sport to "play" for the rest of my life, it would be rock climbing. Rock climbing is both a physical and mental challenge, and my favorite part: it doesn't even feel like a work out! It's a balance of grace and technique, strength is not even really a factor. Ladies are actually better at rock climbing than guys, because girls actually think about it, while guys just want to get to the top as quickly as possible. Isn't that such a great reflection of who we really are as people? =) I took a climbing class for a semester and have just completely fallen in love with it. It is an exercise on trust, letting go, and determination. I do believe they're called, teachable moments.

Boyfriend is a film major, and this last weekend wrapped up his most recent film with an epic final battle scene. 40 army college kids, in full gear and realistic looking weapons, get together to play cowboys and indians, hooah style. To some it may sound like the next Saving Private Ryan, but to me, it's just another day in the life. Because of this, I got into a little bit of mischief with the other Army girlfriends. Filming took place on an joint force training base, and the ladies decided to "go play".

One of boyfriend's friends actually OWNS this! He wants to turn the gun on top into a water gun!

We threw rocks at windows. and got yelled at for it. Not very romantic.

This was an awesome buggy that I got to zip around in! I ended up with lots of dirt in my mouth because I was laughing so hard when we were going!

Trouble.

and of course, the best part: BAKING.

I love being busy and having a full planner. I love being able to spend time with the people I care about most, because that is so important to me. I love taking time to bake and share, and to climb and destress. I love the crazy parts and the hilarious parts of life, and more often than not, they intertwine.

Sorry I haven't "visited" in awhile, I"ve sorta been away from the internet for awhile. But I think we're buying our CA tickets soon -- will you be around in July?
