Marriage, Moving and a 234th birthday!

Life takes things away from us, like sleep, sanity, and blogging. But if we were completely sane and always have a free schedule, then we'd be stuck with mundane blog posts about the weather or something equally lethargic. So thank you life, for those curve balls, those lemons, and all other things you hypothetically throw at me.

Today marks the Army's 234th birthday, and also the day that my spring semester is officially over! Though a little late, summer is still very much welcome. That is, until next week, when I am scheduled to start summer classes. Unfortunately this California tax cut is now finally affecting my depthless pockets as all the summer classes I need, are closed! Not merely due to my procrastination, but because each class has a supposed maximum capacity of 32 students. Upon emailing my professors in a panicked plea to allow me to register, I found that I was number 52 on a wait list...out of over a 100! My upset self has found solace in the fact that if crashing said classes does not work, then at least I will save some money. But on the other hand, where my fingers are all crossed, I hope that crashing will be successful.

Happy Birthday Army!

My recent activities include marriage and moving. Don't worry, my left hand is still bare and my last name has not changed - we've been to a wedding of a friend recently, and we helped some family move. I know I gave some of you out there mini heart attacks, but you can breathe easy after we take out the smelling salts. ;)

The wedding was beautiful - the bride was a college friend, a complete sweetheart and a complete joy. The location was a meadow tucked away in some mountains, with a Hobbit like tree to mark the spot of vow exchanging and celebration. My favorite part was that Boyfriend and I wore converses, inspired by a former English teacher, and I was free to frolic in the fields while ladies grudgingly irrigated the grass with their all too stylish heels. Boyfriend caught the garter, much to my amusement and horror. Driving down off of the mountains, all that cake and dancing disagreed with me and I got major motion sickness. Things got better after I emptied my stomach's contents, and I made sure that I didn't get any on my Chucks. No upchucking on Chucks.

Last weekend we helped dear family move up north, to Not-even-remotely-close-to-us, CA. The drive wasn't that bad and luckily the boys had unloaded everything in great timing. Though distance does indeed make the heart grow fonder, it also breaks my heart, because I want them back sooner than new Orders state. But like I said, yet another lemon. We'll make some lemonade, or maybe some Arnold Palmers.
