Today however, I was completely and totally surprised by fabulous friends who prepared a dinner for me to come home to. I enjoy cooking and baking for them all the time, and I guess they decided to put together something to spread the culinary happiness around.

I guess there's something in a guy's genes that makes him automatically able to grill. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that it concerns fire and there's a chance that something might blow up (which would be the only thing that guys would give up their meat for).
The menu for the night: Caesar salad, grilled steak, scalloped potatoes, and french bread. My girlfriend and I were a little apprehensive at first when the guys told us to leave the kitchen and to relax until dinner was ready. We resisted every urge to run to their aid and to make sure that they weren't applying direct heat to my new Pyrex set. But alas, I underestimated them. Everything turned out fabulous, just like my friends =)

Sounds like a great meal! It's always great when someone else cooks. :) And yes, I think it's funny how men have the grilling gene -- that's the one cooking thing that T's good at that I'm not. I will admit that I'm a little scared of the grill.
