March of the Unqualified

After three midterms and a half dozen essays successfully completed and I say farewell school, hello Spring Break! Spring Break for me does not mean trips to Cabo or painting the town red, but rather, a time where I can bake, nap, and read.

And wait for Boyfriend's sister in law to give birth to Baby Girl (8 days and counting!)

I'm mentoring a high school girl, Maggie, who has a super sweet heart and is a ton of fun to be around. Youth Group with our church is on Thursdays, but she has soccer and I have class, so instead, we get together and have our own study. We're going through a great book called I Am Standing Up: True Confessions of a Total Freak of Nature. It's a very down to earth, yet encouraging book about God's ability to use ordinary people to do extraordinary things.

We talk about things like, why David, of all people, was named a man after God's own heart, when he coveted, committed adultery, and engaged in premeditated murder just to name a few. Often we glorify Bible characters, when really, they're just simple sinful people like us, and that's the exact reason they're used by God - to show us who He loves (answer: everyone!) Maggie is a joy to be around, and I think we're learning a ton from each other!

I love this video, and I hope you do too!

Wow, that made me feel better about what a crappy disciple I am. And simultaneously, made me want to be a better one.
